The Other IT GIRL is changing
Welcome or Welcome back! It has been quite some time I have not publish a Substack newsletter here. I have been really into AI education the past couple of month and discovered a complete new world.
I decided to also slightly change the format of this newsletter to provide more hands on knowledge and feedback.
The Other IT GIRL is now a free weekly newsletter designed just for curious non-technical professionals, eager to understand and grow in the fast-evolving tech landscape.
Every week, I curate the best (mostly) free resources from insightful ebooks, official whitepapers, regulatory updates, top free courses, and handpicked newsletters.
Why subscribe?
Learn & Grow: Discover free learning materials to boost your skills and confidence in disruptive tech.
Make Smarter Decisions: Understand tech trends that impact industries, businesses, and everyday life.
Cost nothing (or almost) and get the best ROI: All content is vetted to save you time and effort.
Whether you’re a business professional, marketer, educator, or just a curious mind, join the community!
I also have a newsletter called Purple Mirror. Purple Mirror is a twist to Black mirror, what would happen if we make disruptive technology respectful of human value.
I publish a few The Daily Glitch each month (One Minute Scenario) and the best-performing scenario of the month will get expanded into a full Purple Mirror case study.
Become an AI Ethicist
What’s an Ethicist & Why Should You Care?
An ethicist helps navigate complex moral dilemmas, especially in fast-changing fields like tech, AI, healthcare, and business. They analyze decisions through frameworks of justice, rights, and consequences, ensuring progress doesn’t outpace our humanity. It is not only the theory it’s about shaping responsible innovation.
I always think of the worst case scenario and how you would ensure a technology has sufficient safeguart to avoid that: end of the world scenario.
Why Dive Into Ethics Now?
As AI adoption grows and AI incident scandals make headlines, demand for ethical guidance is exploding. Whether you’re in tech, law, policy, or design, ethics will create a new edge to your career.

Spend a few weeks with these, and you’ll see ethical dilemmas not as obstacles but matters we should not overlook.
Deep Seek → Deep Thinking
Have you tried the Deep Thinking function of Deep Seek? We have recently heard a lot about Deep Search from OpenAI. So I went on to do market research after seeing a LinkedIn post on how to leverage AI(s) to generate industry reports. So I went on a AI play search using: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral AI and Deep Seek.
This is when I realised this function on Deep Seek called Deep Thinking. I was quite amazed to discover this looks like an insight in the thought process of the AI. Of course this is high-level but I think this can be helpful to improve your prompt skills.
I asked about creating a 3-month self-paced course on AI ethics. I added a few settings and it started to think but repeating my command. Here I can also see what would be the holes in my prompt and potentially identify how I could improve the result!
Have you tried Deep Seek and this function?
